Sections
A section is a portion of text used to construct a document . A document can be made up of one or more sections. When a new document is created, the user will choose which sections to include in the final document.
The following example is a list of sections in a template for the US Constitution. It is a selection of five constitutional amendments.
Section 1 : A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Section 2 : No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
Section 3 : Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
Section 4 : The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
Section 5 : The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
Example 1: A document with Sections 1, 3 and 5
The final document would look like this:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."
Example 2: A document with Sections 1, 2 and 4
The final document would look like this:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."
As illustrated above, different sections can be combined to create unique documents.
